Rock for Churchill was born in 2000. Originally, the festival was a benefitial event to support the Church of St. Jacob the Great, whose roots go back to the first half of the 13th century. For the first three years, it was a one-day festival where mainly regional bands performed.
In 2004, the festival expanded to two days event and it brought big names of the Czech scene, led by the popular J.A.R. Over the past few years, Rock for Churchill has been ranked among the top ten domestic music festivals with its varied dramaturgy and unique atmosphere.
Although rock still takes pride of place in the festival's name, don't be fooled. Rock, dance music, pop, reggae, ska, hip-hop and other musical styles join hands there on three stages. If you like a relaxed festival atmosphere and like to treat yourself to a portion of great music that mainstream radio avoids, this is the event for you.
The festival has been held in the same place since the beginning - in the picturesque Myslivna natural area in the North Bohemian town of Vroutek. No airport, no factory halls, but trees, a meadow and a local stream.
